Crazy Days

Hello,

Today was a crazy day. :) I woke up this morning to my little sister saying "Amanda, daddy is leaving for work?' Almost forgetting (well ok I did) I worked today I jumped out of bed, slipped my work pants on, grabbed my uniform shirt and raised down stairs, still in my pj shirt. When my dad noticed that my hair was still a mess he said, half laughing "Please don't tell me you just woke up?" I didn't end up being late for work luckily.
A few new animals arrived at work today! 3 little dwarf bunnies and gerbils and some hamsters. The bunnies are my favorite because they are so small and cute. The gerbils are fun though. They like to burrow and crawl through tunnels and such so I had fun creating their new home! Well, it's getting late and I don't want to be late for work tomorrow so I'll blog later. :)

What is Normal?

Howdy,
Today was an interesting day. I had a lot on my mind today. Growing up is really great at times but at others it just seems like life just gets more complicated and confusing. I was thinking... what is normal? Who really fits in? Why must someone change in order to feel excepted at times? As I thought about it more and more it occurred to me. We are all different. None of us are normal. If you look at a group of teens, everyone one is different in their own way. So what is normal?
There are those who have glasses or braces who get picked on. Or maybe they are too tall or too short? Sometimes we go to the extreme and pick on people who are too smart or not smart enough. Weight can also be a factor people use. Honestly though. What does that leave us with? If we take all the people who say (don`t fit in)who do we have left? I know I wouldn`t be here because I have both glasses and braces for starters. Each person was uniquely designed! We each have a different purpose in life and we were created just for it! There isn`t really a normal.
That`s why it`s so important to be our true self and not try and be someone were not. Even though it`s hard at times, it`s important. There can be so many different things we could be scared of. What people will think? Will we fit in with today's fads and trends? Trust me, I find we are more happy when we aren`t acting like someone were not. Ive done it and at the end of the day, I still just felt like no one. I ended up feeling discouraged because I knew that I wasn`t the person I was trying to be.
Honestly, on top of the fact that it`s not good for us, people tend to like people who are truly themselves. Everyone is different whether they like it or not. No one is completely normal. If our world only contained completely normal people, life wouldn`t be interesting! We owe it to ourselves to be ourselves. I hope this mind setting helps you as it did me. :)
Hello,
Sorry for having not posted for a while. Been busy with tons of different things and had lots on my mind. Getting older really just means life gets more complicated really. :) Friday night was pretty slow at work, so being bored and needing something to do I tried scrubbing marks of the floors. I was feeling pretty good about my work when I noticed that after my hard scrubbing the stains were actually going away! ( These stains had been there for quite awhile and well were really hard to get out) Anyways, as i was showing my co-worker my job, I suddenly stopped in mid sentence. I realized that the rest of the floor looked pretty brown compared to the area I had been scrubbing. Yup! You guessed it! I had scrubbed so hard I took the finish off the floor. We had a pretty good laugh.

The Budgies were very chirpy yesterday. :) Sometimes I wonder what they are saying? They seem to have so much to say and all at once! :) After someone has put time into training them they are actually really sweet and friendly! Their colors are so bright and beautiful.

Getting organized

Hey,
So the recipe turned out great. :) It was easy, quick and well yummy. However instead of breaking up the cookies for the bottom layer, I just used a box of Oreo baking crumbs. Faster and easier. :p Sorry but the picture didn't turn out so I'd rather not share it. :)
So I went to Kitimat  the other to register for my NLS! Pretty stoked about it. Still trying to figure what my plan is to do as in if I'm going to drive back everyday or stay there for the two weeks. The pool there is a lot bigger then the one here. :) Starting to get a little nervous as well. :p It's a cute little town though. They don't have much for stores but the housing is nice.

Change your words-Change your world

I saw this amazing Youtube video and it was so inspiring I had to share it with you. It has an amazing message, but eh, don't take my word for it. Watch it and see for yourself. :)

Cheesecake

So here is the pictures of the almost done cheesecake recipe. :) It is done baking now and has to sit in the fridge for a couple hours. Turned out great and looks awesome! I will upload a picture of when its done cooling.

Recipie!

 Hey
Today I really feel like cooking so I'm going to try out a few different recipes! There is this great website on line called Taste of Home and I love it! I've found a lot of recipes from there and they have all turned out great! So, if you haven't checked it out you really need to! It's awesome! It's also great because people can write if it turned out for them or not! So ya, I absolutely love it.
One of the recipes I'm going to try today is Oreo Cheesecake. So, I'll go make it then take a picture and let you know how it goes!

Ingredients

  • 24 OREO Cookies, divided
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 (250 g) packages PHILADELPHIA Brick Cream Cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Place 16 of the cookies in resealable plastic bag. Flatten bag to remove excess air, then seal bag. Finely crush cookies by rolling a rolling pin across the bag. Place in bowl. Add butter; mix well. Press firmly onto bottom of 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended after each addition. Chop or crush remaining 8 cookies. Gently stir half of the chopped cookies into cream cheese batter. Pour over prepared crust; sprinkle with the remaining chopped cookies.
  3. Bake 45 min. or until centre is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Cut into 12 pieces. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.
Hey,
So, today is Monday! A starting to a new week. I almost tend to love Mondays because it feels like a new start. Going to finish up some school that needs finishing. I'm able to work a couple extra shifts this week which is nice. I went into the dentist the other day and well, came out with a sore mouth. :p My bracket fell off so they were trying to put it back on. I say trying because it took three different nurses to get it. :p I have a pretty small mouth and the bracket needed to go on my back tooth, so it was really difficult. The were really nice about it but it took awhile. :)
Weather has been funny lately. Not too much sunshine. :( Mostly cloudy with  the sun hiding somewhere. Haven't been able to bike that often though which is not a good thing. :( I love being out in fresh air. However, I'm starting to do lengths at the pool again. I want to get my endurance back up. It's funny because whenever I have a course, the couple weeks before I get nervous and like to study and practice like crazy!
OK, well I was bored and took this picture and thought it looked pretty cool :)

TCC Youth Group Scavanger Hunt

Couple weeks ago our youth group did a scavenger hunt around town. Unfortunately I was not able to go however my brother was and they made a video! Here it is! Enjoy
Well, here is a picture of me with my braces on. Going in tomorrow for a tightening and elastics. Should be pretty interesting. I heard it's a little sore after as well so we will see how my day goes. :)

This is my favorite lake picture I've ever taken. I love going out any laying on the dock and listening to the water splash up against the wood. I'm such a water girl but then I'm not. Hahah. I love watching it, kayaking in it. Being on it but I don't like being in it. I know what you are thinking, "And she wants to be a lifeguard?!" hahaha. Ya I don't  know, I'll go swimming with friends and such but when it comes to swimming far out to where I cant see what under and around me I kinda start to manic. Not too much, but enough to get me out of the water quickly. :) When I do have to be out in deep dark water, I try hard not to think about it. :)

Clouds were really pretty that day too!

I Video That Will Make You Think.

My brother showed me this video the other night and it really made me think. It's pretty amazing, but don't just take my word for it, watch it for yourself. :)

Couple extra pictures

Lacey: Trying to count the passing train cars! Way to go lacey! 150 cars! :)

Dragonfly: This is the most beautiful dragonfly I have ever seen! The blue is so bright and clear. I just had to take a picture!

Sailboat: We saw this on the lake last summer and we took a picture. looked like they were having fun diving off the back!

Road Trip

Last night a couple friends and I took a little road trip to Prince Rupert, to pick up my brother. He had flown in and need a ride back to Terrace. It was tons of fun! However, having took his car (with the finicky sound system) music was an issue. We had hooked up the ipod and tried to play it but the only way the sound would work was for me to hold the button in one direction. So, i tried holding it for awhile but gave up half way because my arm soon got sore. :)

This here is a picture of me holding the button for the sound. :p

It was actually quite nice out so I took a few pictures.

OK! So with the trains it's actually quite funny! Every time we passed a train someone had to count how many cars it was pulling. Hahaha! This train had 150. I'm pretty sure lacey was a little dizzy afterward!  :) We passed a train on the way back as well and I think Levi said it was pulling 200? It looked kinda hard not to get behind. :p

Sorry if this picture is blurry. I took it from inside the driving car. The waterfall was so pretty.

If you notice there is a really cool cloud in this pictures.

Stopped at a rest area for a little break so I decided to take a couple pictures. The scenery was really beautiful.

I tried to get a nice highway picture but I had to watch for cars because in the other direction there was a sharp turn so I wasn't able to see traffic coming from behind. You know you've taken enough pictures when your friend starts to drive down the highway without you. Hahaha. yup.  I wasn't able to get any pictures in Rupert because it was raining and non of them would have turned out. :( We had a lot of fun though. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Today.

Today was a pretty decent day! Made a couple new recopies. One I'll add to my cook book. The other, well, we will just say it didn't enter into realm two :) Went for a nice walk. Love listening to the wind rustle through the trees. It puts my mind some what at ease. Trust me there has been a lot on my mind lately. It was really nice to get out think.

I never know what to put for a Title :p

  Hey Everyone,
Today was a pretty good day. Nothing exciting happened. Bella is getting bigger though. :) Last time I was at the vet they weighed her and she's about 2.7 lbs. Small right! ahaha I love her though. Today's weather was again funny. Sunny one hour raining the next. :)
At work today I saw the cutest doge ever. (well, other then for Bella :) ) He was chihuahua crossed with dachshund.  They coloring was beautiful! Mostly black with brown patches. Then he had a white little line on his chest! Cutest thing ever.
Biked to a friends house after work. Feels great to be out in the fresh air! Love it! Makes me feel free inside. Exercise is just a bonus ;) hahah.
So I finally figured out dates and times for my NLS!  Really excited about finishing all it up this summer! Waited a long time for it and now that it's here I'm kinda, well, nervous. Going to start practicing lots. That just how I am. When I get nervous or stressed about lifeguarding, I just go and practice for a couple hours. Helps me calm down and reassure myself. Terrace wasn't able to provide a NLS course this year because there wasn't enough people interested. That's what happens in small towns. :) So, I'm going to another small town to take it. I'll be gone for two weeks so I'm excited for the adventure!

Yup! That's Bella. Little bit bigger eh? :) She's so cute! Love her lots! Every time I get home from work she gets all excited and starts jumping in her pen waiting for me to pick her up!

The sky was so beautiful the other day and I had to take a picture!

-So please comment. I like to know what you are thinking! At the end of my posts you can even say if it was cute...made you laugh....made you cry.....or if you though it was cool. So please leave feedback cause I like to know what you are thinking! Thanks!

Little Bits....

 Hello,

Well, today it rained. Terraces is kinda known for it raining all the time. One day it can be hot and sunny then the next cloudy with rain. That's just how it is. :) I kinda like it in a way. However, it terrible for trying to plan things! lol You can imagine.

 - Hot Pink! I know right! hahah no actually I'm not really a pink kinda girl. more the blue and green time. (wow lol blue as in sad and green as in sick. Sounds depressing lol) I just like those colors. Anyways, before I get side tracked lol I bought these shoes and well they are actually pretty comfortable. Didn't think they would be but they are!  I wear them at work and they don't make my feet hurt so that great! My co-workers just laugh cause our uniforms are beige colored and the pink really stands out. Oh well... They are great for driving too!

It was my friends birthday awhile ago and I didn't have time to buy her a card so I made one from some scrap paper I had left over from scrap-booking.  It actually turned out pretty good in my opinion. :)

:) Cute right! lol This is how my four year old sister puts shoes away. :p Shes so cute! After inquiring about the arrangement.
she said "I'm daddy's little girl!"
I asked "What about me? I think I was here first?"
" Well.................. we will have to share then." She said.
She is so cute! I am so glad I have her! I had to wait a long time for her though. There are seven of us kids in total and only two girls. I'm the second oldest and Katie is the second youngest.

This is a picture of me the first day I got braces. You can't really see them well but they are there. :) I can feel them for sure. lol They feel much better now. starting to be able to chew more which is great! I can finally eat! lol It was funny cause the day after, I went to a baptism with a friend of mine. There was a lunch afterwords and as we went through the table of food I kept having to say to myself "Can't eat that, can't eat that and nope definitely can't eat that! :) ahahaha My friend just looked at me and was like "reeeaaallllyyyy hahahha." I think I ended up settling with a glass of juice. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is my next appointment. I heard that after the first tightening it's pretty sore as well.  Oh well.... back to smoothies I go. :p

Ya, that's me! I found some old AWSI (Assistant Water Safety Instructor) course pictures. I took this course like two years ago and never forgot it! It was one of the funnest courses I ever took! Usually in one course there would only be about 6-10 people but there were like 16 of us!

This here is a semi-group photo :p It was so nice out that our instructor took the class out side to practice. Left -Right: Adrienne, Andrea, TJ, Kelly, Myself, Jordan and Roxy.

Having fun while waiting for their turn.

Hahahah don't even ask me what they were doing. :) I don't even remember!

Half way through the day TJ decided it was time to climb a tree! He was so much fun in the course! Made us laugh all the time!

The boys are practicing a two man rescue it looks like...

Another stick Photo. Still not sure what they were up to. Looks like they were pretending it to be a bow. Who needs to spen money on toys when they can play with sticks hahaha!

Practicing choking.

My teacher brought her new dog out one day! He's so cute. This is how he waled around on the grass. It was so funny! It was almost like he was trying to scratch his belly! :)

Final Group Photo: Left - Right: Elizabeth, Adrienne, Roxy, Steven, Jordan, Andrea. Kelly, Brandon, Courtney, Kaila, TJ, Kelly, Bottom row: Amanda, Myself and Danielle. It was a great class! Very interesting at times I will have to say! It was one to remember.

Ducks

The other day I was looking out of the window and I noticed 2 ducks in our pond. It was so cute so I took some pictures for you! There have been a lot of animals coming around lately. The boys saw a moose in the back feild one day while I was at work. I'll try and find the picture for you and share.
