My Little Chihuahua
She was small and cuddly when I took her home
As tiny as a teacup, she weighed as much as foam,
Having golden colored hair it looked as pretty as Ma’s
Almost like mittens were her white paws.
Whimpers and whines filled the first few nights
It only all started when off went the lights,
A compromise was made, which ended her in my bed
Whines and whimpers stopped as she fell asleep by my head.
Potty training started and ended with great results
To which Katie replied “Great job Bella, you’re now like the adults.”
Nails were trimmed with great ease and great care,
Shampoo was rubbed in for great smelling hair.
Now almost fully trained, Bella enjoys her new life
However, weighing only 3lbs I doubt she’ll be a wife
Gone outside with Spirit, tag they gently played
The barn full of wild cats was not an area they chose to raid.
Rescue on the other hand, who is our household cat
Doesn’t like Bella too much, and mostly behaves like a brat
Barking when strangers enter, about that Rescue’s just not sure
Bella is now a part of the family and brings us great joy
She sleeps; she eats and then plays with her new toy,
Happiness and pleasure is what she brings
Everything seems perfect, well, until the telephone rings
“Bark, Bark, Bark, Bark, Bark.”
